Damn you, Autumn, Beautiful Yet Insecure

Words about the change of season,
Families are splitting apart,
And leaves are falling down:

I think: It’s a time of separation.
Of leaves from their trees.
Of multiple couples whom I know, from eachother and their familiar connections.
Trees say, “ Don’t be so shocked.
When leaves start falling
Remember life is in the roots of things connected.
Things aren’t dying. They are changing.
Dying is:
Changing, not ending.”

I whine, "Yes, but the colors are different than I’m used to,
And the wind is strong
I don’t recognize myself from the month before.
It’s insecure here!"
